The Ongoing Suicide Practices of Israeli and Palestinian People, and How to Stop it.
How is Killing Others More Like a Suicide?.
Most people are unaware that killing others is actually more like suicide because they don’t know a deeper truth about existence and the deceptive nature of our senses. Our senses currently perceive everything in terms of "me" and "everything else," but this dualistic experience contradicts how everything truly exists—a truth that simple, unbiased, and irrefutable science and logic can explain. Most humans have never heard of a hidden flaw in the everyday perception shaping our experience, one that affects us in ways far more damaging than we realize.
The way humans understand their experience of "me vs. them" is grounded in unscientific and illogical assumptions, full of contradictions with the facts of life. While it is true that all humans exist and that each of us has a valid sense of self, the problem lies in our unconscious assumption that we are unique, self-contained entities. We believe that we exist as independent, unchanging beings, different from everyone else. However, the closer we examine how we exist, the more we discover that this assumption is false and that our experience of separation is more like an illusion. Not understanding this illusion makes the act of killing others more like suicide.
The illusion of individual self.
Most people experience an individual self, and 99% of us believe this experience is valid. We believe in a separate, singular "I," that we assume is full of our own nature produced by our own nature. Yet, the more we analyze this belief and experience, the clearer it becomes that this kind of self does not exist as we imagine. Instead, we find that our existence is far more interconnected and extraordinary, with many wonderful benefits. This truth applies universally to all people and phenomena—because fundamentally, everyone is identical, without any distinct essence of their own.
The perception and experience of distinct, individual selves is a trick played by our senses, fueled by our mind's ignorance of how existence truly operates. Labels such as "me" and "them" are mental projections onto physical forms, which we mistakenly believe to be facts. Since everyone is identical and without a unique self, the only differences between people are the labels we assign them. We must remember that all labels originate in our minds—they do not come from the bodies themselves, as most people assume, and this misconception leads to all forms of suffering, including suicide.
Consequences of actions against people we label as "others"?
Because we exist without a separate self, any actions we take against "others" are, in reality, actions against ourselves. The consequences of harming others inevitably come back to us. Therefore, any negative actions by Israelis against Palestinians, or vice versa, are equivalent to unconscious acts of self-destruction like suicide.. When Israelis think, "I have always been an Israeli, and they have always been Palestinians," they are relying on beliefs that contradict the facts of existence—beliefs rooted in ignorance, superstition, and unfamiliarity with how everyone truly exists. These misconceptions cause endless grief with no resolution in sight.
Proof of our how people exist vs. how they appear to exist.
If Israelis and Palestinians truly possessed distinct selves, science and logic would confirm their existence and so far it can’t. A valid self must meet the following criteria:
1. It must be one unchanging entity.
2. It must not be a product of something else.
3. It must exist independently of any labels our minds project onto it.
Most agree that if a self exists, it must be one self-generated entity, full of its own unique essence. But anything that is a product of something else cannot possess a unique essence. Now, let’s examine the four possible ways that a self can exist:
A Self must be either:
1. the physical aspect (body).
2. the nonphysical aspect (mind).
3. only certain parts of the body & mind.
4. completely different and unrelated from the body & mind, or its parts.
1.Is the self the body?
When we look closely at the physical form, we discover that there is no such thing as a single, unified body. Instead, there are parts—like the head, torso, arms, and legs—composed of countless smaller parts, like cells, atoms, and ever-smaller particles. No particle is a singular entity either, as everything is made up of an infinite number of ever-smaller parts. So, the body and its parts are not a self, because neither the body nor its parts are singular entities.
Furthermore, the body and its parts lack an independent nature that could generate them. Nothing in existence comes into being autonomously, by its own nature. Everything is a product of everything else, the entire universe and its physical and nonphysical elements This means that every body is full of the same universal essence, and not its own. Therefore, the body cannot be the self.
2.Is the self the mind??
Whether we believe the mind to be brain to nonphysical space like entity, either way upon closer inspection of the mind, we see that it is not one self-generated entity. The mind is a consciousness that perceives, feels, and thinks, creating a perpetual flow of moment-to-moment existence. The present moment is the result of the past moment, which generates the future moment, and so on. No matter how short the moment, each moment is made up of an infinite number of ever-shorter moments. The mind is not a singular, unchanging entity, and thus, it cannot be the self.
3.Is the self a combination of the body & mind?
Since neither the body nor the mind is a singular and self-generated entity, a combination of the two cannot be a self either.
4.Is the self different from the body & mind?
Clearly not, as no one has ever experienced a self separate from the body and mind. There is no existence or sense of experience apart from the mind, So if there was a self different from the conscious mind, it would not be an experienceable event but some kind of nonexeriencable event, which sounds absurd to even think about. If the self were entirely different from the body and mind, our experiences of the body and mind would belong to someone else. Therefore there is no self or soul apart from the body and mind.
Conclusion: The illusion of a separate self.
Our senses deceive us into believing that each of us is an individual self possessing a unique essence that makes us different from others. However, science and logic show that no living being is a singular, self-contained entity with its own individual nature capable of generating us. We are all products of the same universal nature, identical in essence. Therefore, it is illogical to treat anyone as a separate self.
Israeli and Palestinian actions against one another are, in essence, actions against themselves—a form of unconscious suicide. This ongoing conflict is fueled by ignorance of our shared existence and the belief in a unique, autonomous self that does not exist. It is time to end this endless cycle of deception and return to humanity's true nature—one of perfect harmony and happiness.
A bit more detail about facts of existence that can end all suicide:
Our senses provide us with an experience of self and others, convincing us that each of us possesses a unique essence that makes us different and separate from everybody else. Surprisingly, this common perception, experience, and belief are entirely false. Simple science and logic offer unbiased and irrefutable explanations. If we examine the facts of life, they reveal that no living being is a singular, unchanging entity with an individual nature capable of producing itself. Therefore, no person—regardless of appearance—has an individual essence that sets them apart from anyone else or from the entirety of existence. Instead, each of us is like an ever-changing puzzle, formed by universal nature and its countless physical and nonphysical elements, making us identical to the whole of existence.
In reality, everyone and everything is identical to the universe itself. There is no real boundary or difference between universal nature (the producer) and any living being (the produced), except in the labels our mind creates. Labels such as “universal nature” and “us” are merely conceptual designations that originate in our minds. They do not come from the physical phenomena themselves. Unfortunately, most of us believe they do, leading to tremendous suffering as a result of this ignorance.
Thus, it is not logical to treat any person as a separate self. Therefore, Israeli and Palestinian actions against one another are actions against themselves, akin to suicide.
The ongoing suicidal actions of the Israeli and Palestinian people stem from an inborn ignorance of how everyone truly exists and an unfounded belief in a unique, autonomous self that does not exist. Let’s work to end this ongoing suicide. Isn't it time we break free from this cycle of deception and return to humanity’s true nature of perfect harmony and happiness?
